About Us

WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND OUR WORKSHOPS?

You can earn ASHA and State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECH). An annual CE Registry fee is required in order to register ASHA CEUs. CE Registry fees are paid by the participant directly to the ASHA National Office. The annual CE Registry fee allows registration of an unlimited number of ASHA CEUs for the calendar year. Contact the ASHA CE Division (301-897-5700) for CE fee subscription information. SCECHs are also being offered for each workshop.

Attendance provides an opportunity to interact with professionals from other school districts. (Note: Any interested person is welcome.) You do not need to live or work in Wayne County or even be employed in the field of Speech Pathology.

Attendance will enhance your professional skills in areas identified.

WHAT DOES WCSLA DO?

Our purpose is to provide opportunities for learning and professional growth. This includes providing workshops presented by local and state practitioners as well as nationally known authorities.

HOW DO I BECOME A DIRECTOR?

Nominations for directors will be accepted before the spring workshop, if there are open positions, and will be voted on at the last workshop of the season, if necessary, per our new Bylaws. Executive positions are determined by the board of directors as a whole.

WHEN ARE MEETINGS HELD?

Our board meetings are usually held in the evening, three to four times during the academic year. In addition, we will have three all day workshops. The workshop fee includes membership fee.
